  • In the past, Vietnam was impacted by numerous epidemics, particularly during the Nguyễn Dynasty from 1802 to 1883. Based on data from the Đại Nam Thực Lục (1961) (The Veritable Records of the Great South), this article investigates the frequency and nature of these epidemics, identifies the types of common diseases at that time, and explores the underlying causes of these outbreaks. The study further examinesthe Nguyễn Dynasty’s strategies for managing these health crises. During these outbreaks, the dynasty faced significant challenges, with frequent epidemics leading to high death rates, widespread social disruption, and economic decline.   • The Tale of Kiều Manuscript (the Manuscript) currently preserved at the British Library is an unique print among the publications of The Tale of Kiều, Nguyễn Du most renowned work, as its story entails an East – West journey. The recently discovered Manuscript bears significant artistic, literary and textological values.   • Degeneracy theorems for holomorphic mappings from a complex disc with finite growth index

  • In this paper, we prove degeneracy theorems for holomorphic mappings from a complex disc ∆(R) ⊂ C with finite growth index into P (C) sharing hyperplanes in general position. We further consider the case that intersecting points of the mappings and the hyperplanes with multiplicities more than a certain number do not need to be counted. These results generalize the previous degeneracy theorems for meromorphic mappings from C into P(C)
